Hotel suggestion in Jacksonville,FL

Hi. A group of us are going on a cruise out of Jacksonville, FL in May. The port isn't too far away but some are driving the day before so we can be rested and ready to go the day of the cruise.

 

We are trying to find a good hotel close that offers parking there and a shuttle to the port with free or of a small charge or should we just park at the port. No one in the group has cruised out of Jacksonville before so we are a little lost.

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Several hotels near the JAX airport are popular with cruisers.

We have not yet cruised from Jax, but I spent a fair amount of time in the area way back when I was in the Navy.

 

When do you cruise? Jacksonville is actually about a 30 minute drive away from the beach, but Jacksonville Beach or Mayport is where I would choose to stay, and then park at the port, assuming your cruise is during warm weather and you have the time to spend on the beach.

Stayed at the Springhill Suites Jacksonville Airport for our cruise out of Jacksonville in 2015. It's near a lot of restaurants and has good breakfast itself. Ride to the port is only a few minutes. Rooms were clean, no complaints.
