IMKTDQT810 Posted January 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Hi All, Has anyone done this one? If so, does it drop you back off at the ship or in town shop afterwards? We are on the fence between this shore excursion and another one that says it drops you off in town to shop or at the ship. We like the offered AM time slot for this vs. an afternoon start for the other one. Thanks for the info....
LondonTowner Posted January 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2017 We did a tour with Bernard's Tours who come highly recommended on here. There were only a total of 7 of us in a mini bus. Some wanted to go shopping at the end of the tour, so they were dropped off in town and we were taken back to the ship, so everybody catered for. LondonTowner Posted January 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2017 Our captain swapped ports so we got to St Maartens a day later than we should have done. Bernard has a desk in the terminal. We went there and explained the situation. Our tour for that day had already left, but they put us in a top of the range Mercedes to catch up with the tour. We caught them at the first stop, so we didn't miss anything. Our experience was they are professional and we enjoyed the tour.
lovevacadays Posted January 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2017 How much is the tour through your ship and how many in your party? BTWZ, it is an easy walk from the pier to town. We did it after our tour and it's easy breezy.
IMKTDQT810 Posted January 19, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted January 19, 2017 Hello, We are a group of 3 and the tour via the ship is $34.99 per person. We looked more into another one offered by the ship on this island as well and will be making a final decision by this weekend. I understand the third party tours might have excellent service (and be cheaper) but to me my peace of mind knowing that the ship won't leave without us (OR they get us to the next destination) is more of a personal choice for that comfort incase something happens like a vehicle breakdown or something else unforeseen. teknoge3k Posted January 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 19, 2017 We're booked with Bernards too for our upcoming trip to San Juan. Didn't want to spend the money through Carnival.

kcsavage Posted January 25, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 25, 2017 We've used Bernard's Tours twice and you won't be disappointed. He comes highly recommended and he's so much more affordable than the cruise ship excursions. Our group of 18 (ages 8-65) had a wonderful time. Orient Beach is beautiful and airplane beach might be my most favorite place on Earth. You can see his tour choices at bernardstours.com. Hope that helps and that you have fun.
