Pesos?

We are thinking of doing either Mr. Sanchos or Nach Cocom while in Cozumel. Would it be worth it or necessary to bring pesos? Or is the US dollar accepted/preferred? This will be my first time visiting Cozumel.

Most of the prices you will see posted (menus, cabs, shops, etc.) on Cozumel will be in dollars. Bring some small bills as making change is sometimes an issue (cab drivers all over the world never seem to have change when you pull out a $20 :()

Most places prefer US Dollars for payment. Be sure to bring mostly smaller bills to shop with. Many vendors will try to give you change back in Pesos. If you don't have the exact amount for the transaction, be sure to ask them if they have US Dollars for change. If not, take your business to the next shop.
