Pre pay OBC?

Hi all, does anyone know if it's possible and more to the point worth it for us brits to pre pay for OBC on Princess? Any comments welcome.

It all depends whether you booked your cruise pre or post BREXIT. If pre, then the rate at which you can purchase OBC will be quite good. The way to check this is to log onto your personalizer. There, you can see a place to buy the OBC - it will show 3 amounts. These equate to $25, $50 and $100 US. Only the pound amount will show. You can determine the rate from this and whether or not it is worthwhile to pre-buy it.

We booked post Brexit but our rate is still much better than the present high street quoted. $1.33 to the £, against $1.17 today.

Strangely today with the rate dropping like a stone, I have bought our Beverage package pre paid the gratuities and add OBC as our rate was £1.46 for our April cruise I know there is a school of thought that it could go up, but remember if it does you can cancel and get a full refund up to 72 hours before sailing.

If refundable OBC is left at the end of the cruise (and OBC you purchase is refundable), you will get it back.

 

In the USA they send you a check several weeks after the cruise.

 

I do not know what they do for the UK bookings or, if it is a check, what currency it is in.

IF we have any obc at the end of our cruise, we not wait for Princess to refund. We just toddle off to the casino on the last night, put our cruise card into one of the slots, play a couple of spins, cash out to card and then go to the casino cage and they give you the cash. Simples!!!
