Any new updates on the Victory?

I am on Deck 9 on March 6th and we will not have the renovation and they would not let me move cabins due to our discount rates. Oh well. We are very close to the pool! I will miss not having a fridge though.

Hi Hayes - Sorry to hear you cannot move. Did your contact say when deck 9 might be completed? We sail in April. Thx!

I am going on the Victory in April.... is there anything I should know before I go there? Do they have hairdryers in the room? Has anyone done the optional times seating for dinner? Do you have to wait in line to eat then ?

We are also going in April (13-17)! There are new hairdryers in all updated rooms. We have not done anytime seating before but are going to try it on this cruise. From what I've read depending on how busy the dining room is when you get there, you may have wait a short time for a seat but I wouldn't think it would be a long wait.

Anyone know how many rooms they work on at once? Or how long it takes to update the group they're working on? Is it loud on the floor that they're working on?

Sorry for all the questions. We sail in 3 weeks and we're on floor 9. Thx for any input!

We did my time dining last week and the longest we waited was 15 mins on the formal night. Waited 5 minutes once and the other nights we were seated right away. Refurbished rooms have hair dryers in the drawer under the mirror in room (not bathroom). They also have mini fridge. We enjoyed the ship very much!!

I'm on the Victory again and the entire deck 9 right side cabin area is closed off for upgrades. Everyone assigned to cabins on deck 8 will have upgraded cabins. All of Deck 8 is complete. This sailing which began Feb 27th did not go as usual to Key West & Cozumel but to the Bahamas, Nassau & Half Moon Cay.

Deck 9 right side is completely closed off for upgrades. I'm onboard right now. You cannot hear any noise when they are working(at least I can't) when I pass by. The remaining decks are 10 & 11. They are almost finished with the passenger cabins. How long does it take, I don't know.

Thank all of you for the information in this thread. My wife, daughter (5 years old), and I will be taking our first cruise on the Victory on April 24th this year. We wanted a shorter cruise to assure everyone can handle being on a ship at sea. This thread makes me even more excited to head on this trip.

We have a AFT Balcony on the 7th floor. And it seems to be renovated =).

I will be in 7351 on March 3rd. Does anyone know if that room is updated? It's Mid/Aft Starboard side.

Thanks!

Yes, has been since last month. Up to deck 8 is completed and they are working on deck 9 I get off when you get on.

Thanks for the update! We're on the port side of deck 9 on March 20th so it looks doubtful that we'll have an updated cabin. Maybe they work super fast!! I hope your itinerary wasn't changed from what you booked. Post was unclear.

Thanks again for the info and have a great cruise!

You're welcome. No, it's the original itinerary which is different from what it usually is when it departs Miami on Mondays. I asked why but no one claims to know. Hopefully it will be done in time for your sailing.

It wasn't changed, just different to what it usually is on a Monday departure from Miami. It usually is Key West & Cozumel but this Feb 27th sailing went to Nassau & Half Moon Cay.

From this thread, it seems like they will likely be working on the 10th floor when we sail at the end of March. Just curious if I will have any choice in what happens if they need to work on the room we've booked at that time. I've been watching this thread, and it's really hard to tell what the pace is. It also doesn't sound like calling to ask will be worthwhile...

I'm much more interested in keeping my upper floor and cabin type over having refurbished room. I know they can change cabin assignments for a variety of reasons, but I'm not clear on whether we would be notified if it has to happen.

Has anyone had their room changed/moved because of the construction? Were you notified before check-in?

Attached are some pics with notes on each. Loved the ship / food / ports. Did not like the shows (probably have seen too many) and casino was cold as ice - no one winning. We did anytime dining - no problems, barely a wait. Buffet lines were huge during check in and back on ship from Key West. However, we were on early for both so no issues. I love cruising and will be on a ship somewhere sometime soon.
