bogofman Posted January 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2017 I asked a similar question in the royal caribbean forum. Will there be lots of kids on this sailing or do most families tend to sail with Royal and ncl on the ships more tailored to families? I like the western itinarey, We will be in florida for 3 weeks over Xmas and are wondering whether to rake a 7 day cruuse the first week Although we don't want to be over run with kids
Rare Texed Posted January 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2017 Will there be lots of kids on this sailing or do most families tend to sail with Royal and ncl on the ships more tailored to families? There will be a lot more kids on RCI and NCL, but at Christmas there will be quite a few families/children on Celebrity also. But, Celebrity does a good job of "hiding" them. :p
Duanerice1 Posted January 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2017 We usually cruise right before Christmas and there are basically no children on the ship. But looking at the calendar, most kids will have the 2 weeks off from Dec 18 through the first of the year. If you plan on going before the 18th you should be fine. I'm talking Celebrity here, not RCL.
CHEZMARYLOU Posted January 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2017 We did a 7 day cruise in December the week before their Christmas Cruise, Dec 11-18, and there were very few children on board.
wallie5446 Posted January 20, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2017 (edited) I'll have to look at the schedule, but most Equinox sailings are 10/11 days. Hence there are very few children on board. Wow! All the Dec 2017 sailings are 7 day! Edited January 20, 2017 by wallie5446
bogofman Posted January 20, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted January 20, 2017 yes that is the one we are looking at 7 day saturday to saturday on Equinox prices look good with drinks included not been to any of the ports Are there any ruins to visit from Costa Maya, or is it beach only? wallie5446 Posted January 20, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 20, 2017 If you sail the first week, there will be very few youngsters on board. If you sail over the actual holiday, there will be more due to school out of session.

Many of them will start classes back up on Thursday, Jan 4, 2018. I expect the Dec 16 and 17 sailings to be mostly kid-free. We sail on Silhouette Dec 17. My college student will be out of classes. The last day of final Exams is Friday, Dec 15.
