Missing Cruise Passenger

This was in our local Phoenix paper this morning. Very sad story and I feel for the family. Unfortunately, I think this could happen on any cruise line and we all need to be aware.

I really feel bad for the family. This is exactly why, I will be giving all my information to my folks before I leave and friends at work, so they know where I'm suppose to be. I'm also going to call prior to boarding to let them know that I made it from FLL to the ship and will try to contact them later if I can. This really isn't anything new that I don't normally do during a vacation anyways.

Before I leave for a cruise, I prepare an email or Word document with my flight and hotel info, as well as the cruise itinerary and cruiseline contact info. I sometimes include shore excursion info. I send it to a couple of family members and/or friends. In addition to knowing where I am supposed to be, they also enjoy following my itinerary and looking at the ship's webcam.
