Renting a car in Freeport. Lots of questions.

We will have one day in Freeport aboard The Sky in June. How much would it cost to rent a car in Freeport for 6-7 hours? Is there a car rental at the port? Would we have to make arrangements in advance? Would it be safe for just my husband and I to drive on our own to Lucayan National Park, and Gold Rock Beach? If so how long would the ride be?

We rented our car from the airport, but then again, we flew into Freeport and stayed on the island for a couple of days.

 

Here is a link to some of the car rental agencies in and around Freeport. Do some research to see which one(s) is closest to the pier, and then plug in your dates to see what your daily rate would be.

I cannot remember the distance to Lucayan National Park, but the link above also has a lot of information about the island, and you can also plug in your destination in Google Maps to see the distance / driving time from place to place.

 

We really enjoyed Lucayan National Park ... we had the beach all to ourselves and enjoyed the underwater caves.

We realized driving would be on the left side of the road. Not so sure that renting a car is a good idea now. Is there another way to get to the Park and Good Rock?

You could do some research to see if there is a private guide you can hire.
