Indonesian Visa

I have looked at the Indonesian Embassy website and it states that there is no visa required for UK and Irish visitors as a short stay visa is free. When there is 2015 on a cruise we had to pay US$35 each. Has anyone been there on a cruise lately and what is the position now?

Previously, Indonesia issued visas on arrival. In the case of cruise ship arrivals the ship handled the formalities with the Indonesian Immigration officials and the visa fee was charged to your on board account. Recently, at least for those of us in Australia, this was changed so that you no longer require a visa for stays of less than 30 days.

As you have checked the Indonesian Embassy website I assume the change to visa requirements also applied to passport holders from UK and Ireland.

Having said all the above, rules can change almost overnight, but as of today there is no visa required. :)
