Going next week on Majesty of the seas. Need advice on what is available to rent at coco cay beach vs reserving excursions.

We both like to snorkel and don't know if we should book ahead or rent equipment there.

and what about floats? available there to rent?

First time cruisers but older and wiser :) advice appreciated

You can rent a snorkel set for around $15. You don't need an excursion to have an interesting snorkel experience there. You can swim out from the closest beach to the snorkel rental building, swim to the left towards where the ship is anchored. There is a reef there.

awesome. Sounds like you have done it before .

I know tides matter so watching for those

Yes, we've probably snorkelled at Coco Cay a couple of dozen times.

Tides, current, and wind make a difference. If it is really rough, the lifeguards won't let you go out too far towards the ship.

You can reserve ahead, but this time of year on a ship the size of Majesty, there is no problem walking up and renting. (usually) I've found the snorkeling to be very nice in that section north of the island near the rental shack.

Yes, I know tide will be going out - low tide is at 11:30am next Tuesday. Should be ok weather. What do you think? is there a rental shack to get other stuff there as well? floats, etc.

MB

I know they rent floating mats, but not sure of what else they may rent.
