so..... Am I right in guessing the Nugget trail is 'the' best view hike here? I see a variety of trails,and if the weather permits we'd like to explore them all (or as many as possible) what are the best---least,in order of choice? as far as enjoyment,views,etc.

There is no "Nugget Trail". It is either Nugget Falls or Nugget Creek. I have done both. The one that "most" people follow is Nugget Falls, which takes an hour round trip. It does offer the closest view from the east side. Take a look at the trail map for the details.

Another vote for Nugget Falls...

• it's 0.8 miles one way.... double for a return trip
  
• on one of my visits... the trail was partially flooded from the August melt.
  
• not recommended with wheelchairs
  
• Photo Point is a shorter option. I think it was paved for wheelchairs. On a wet day... I prefer Photo Point.
  
• I also did the "Trail of Time". It does a great job of illustrating the glacier's retreat.

Also don't miss the tiny Steep Creek loop, especially in salmon season. I also did the Trail of Time. Short and nice, but not spectacular, except there was another stream crossing with salmon and I was the only one there for part of the time. Oh...and bear scat literally ON the trail. :)
