Karencruiser43 Posted February 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2017 Anybody recently back from visiting Altos de Chavon? Reading various posts about different prices. One post said it was $5.00 entrance fee if you book on line otherwise it is $25.00 entry fee. Can anybody please clarify. Thank you very much! Is it possible to do this and also head to a beach afterwards. In DR frm 8.00am to 4.00pm. Thank you for any help!
blue_water Posted February 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) Sorry, can't help with the Altos de Chavon question. But for a beach you'd want to head to Bayahibe which is a 20 minute taxi to the east. Also consider the Seavis Tours Saona Island excursion if you decide you want a fun day. It's a 6-hour excursion and they coordinate the taxis and also coordinate with Carnival when the ship modifies their port times. If interested you can find more details in other threads and on their site - http://www.seavisbayahibe.com/saona_special_e.htm Edited February 2, 2017 by blue_water

blue_water Posted February 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Karen if no help here try the Bayahibe and La Romana forums on TripAdvisor. The experts on the Bayahibe forum may be able to direct you to the answer if they don't have it...

Keys2Heaven Posted February 5, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 5, 2017 Thank you for the information about Seavis tours. We were unsure what to do for our port stay in La Romana and decided to book them and partake in their Chavon Special tour. I will post a review about this tour when we return from our cruise. Yes the Seavis Tours River Chavon tours are a neat option. We've only motored up the river on a cat as part of the Pro Excursions full-day Catalina Island excursion while staying in Bayahibe so please do report back! :)
