St. Kitts Marriott day pass

This isn't "apples to apples" but the last time we cruised and stopped in Curacao, we went to the Marriott on that island, and they allowed us to use their beach for $10 per person. That was @ 5 years ago, so considering different island / five years out, YMMV this time ... but the folks at the Curacao Marriott were terrific while we were there.

Been to the Marriott in St. Kitts many times using a day pass. You can get a day pass through resortsforaday for $59. I book directly with the Marriott using on of these emails (internet.customer.care@marriott.com) or mhrs.skbrb.reservation.mgr@marriotthotels.com to request availability for a day pass. No deposit is required, you pay the $35 upon arrival at the front desk. They'll give you a wrist band which includes free Wi-Fi, use of beach towels, lounge chairs for the pool and ocean (Frigate Bay) and a 10% discount on food and drinks. We found the staff to be very pleasant and the food and drinks reasonably priced.

Resorts for the day charges $59 for the day pass and gives you the same amenities as booking directly with the hotel for $35.

We prefer staying at the pool instead of the beach, as the lounges and cabanas at the beach are set back a little too much from the ocean which we didn't like. We were bothered by the locals on the beach quite often selling things and decided staying at the pool was best for us. We felt safe leaving our belongings as we enjoyed their pool.

The Marriott is about a 10-15 min. ride from the port, the taxi cost for 3 of us was $6 pp. one way. Plenty of taxis at the Marriott upon return trip to the port. Our taxi driver was so nice, we asked him to pick us at a specific time, he did return promptly at the set time and even made a stop for us at a local grocery store, his name was Magic which was also etched on his van.

There's also a casino at the Marriott in St. Kitts.

I had emailed the hotel directly to ask about the day passes and was told they didn't offer them on the day I was requesting, which was February 23. But they do show up on the website for Resort for a Day for that specific day.

That's a holiday week and it's possible the resort is quite full for that day and is only offering a limited amount of day passes through Resorts for a Day.

Another beach we enjoy going to is Carambola, which is about 10-15 mins. from the port, taxi cost about the same $6 pp. You would also have to send an email and request availability for lounge chairs and an umbrella for that day, price is $10 for each. I previously used this email

also found this info on the web http://reservations.carambolabeachclub.com/booking.php

Thank you for that info. Will look into it as well.

We went to St Kitts in Dec on Anthem. The Marriott there told me via email that they were not offering day passes. They wanted to sell me a room for the day. We ended up booking the Carambola Beach Club instead - it was really very nice.
