Tampa Hotels

The Westshore area is very near the TPA airport and offers lots of hotel choices, along with many dining options and nearby International Mall.

There are several hotels in the Rocky Point area that are popular with cruisers - Chase Suites, Hampton Inn, etc. that offer packages that include both airport and port shuttles.

A taxi from the airport to the port/downtown will cost $25+tip

There are a couple of hotels within a few blocks of the port - Marriott and Embassy Suites; some prefer to stay in Ybor city for the dining/nightlife and it is only 2-3 miles from the port.

Good luck! :)

We stayed at Chase Suites a couple of years ago and were happy -- pool was okay and the area borders the bay with some nice walking. Check Trip Advisor for more reviews and info.

If you are going to be there for a couple of days I would rent a car and get out of Tampa - head to the gulf coast (St. Pete, Clearwater, etc.). ;)

Would you happen to know if either of these have a nice pool? We are going to be there for a couple of days and would like to spend some time at the pool. thanks!

The Holiday Inn Express Rocky Point offers a great cruise pkg. Airport shuttle, room, hot breakfast and a shuttle to the port and then again after the cruise. I've stayed here twice and had positive experiences both times.the hotel sits on the Bay do you get great views plus they have a nice pool that overlooks the water.

The Hampton Rocky Point and Chase Suites Rocky Point are directly next door but the Holiday Inn has the best pool.

There is a Bahama Breeze restaurant next to the hotel. They have good food at decent rates plus entertainment on the deck each night.

It's a great way to start your cruise.

The Marriott Waterside in Tampa has a nice pool and it's along the water and about a 5 minute cab ride to the port. The trolley stops outside the hotel and you can take it to Ybor city or just ride around. Marriott can be pricey but it depends on the days of the week you're there and if they are busy with a convention or event.
