Learn to play bridge?

My husband and I are on the Coral Princess March 28 sailing.

 

We are thinking about learning to play bridge. We'll do some reading and practice a little before the cruise, but my question is: as newbies, will we be welcome at the Bridge sessions I see listed every day in the Patters from past Coral cruises?

Princess no longer offers bridge lessons or organized bridge games. They are now all passenger participation... anyone who shows up can play.
