Pier290 Posted February 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2017 I know there WAS a pollution problem but have there been any current reports of this at,Great Bay?? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Forums mobile app
Karysa Posted February 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2017 The problem has yet to be corrected as to my knowledge. The sewage overflow happens after heavy rain. There was a plan to drain this water further out to sea but I have not heard anything about that for a while now.
gtaylor Posted February 7, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2017 The locals think there is still a problem Milton Peters College (MPC) students Cassandra Williams and Sofia Dubrosse recently conducted a survey of some rather disgusting stuff – sewage – in particular, sewage run-off. Link Check this. All of the enclosed area ultimately makes its way into Great Bay. (click) Ealier discussion here. gary
Karysa Posted February 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2017 Gary can you update the Great Bay Pollution-What's it like now thread? This thread is the one that has a lot of information on this subject over the years. The information of the recent findings from the students work would be a good update as to "what's it like now". ( I haven't checked your link yet but that's probably the thread that you are offering the OP so they can obtain more information. I would do it myself if I could. lol

SnorkelAway Posted February 8, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2017 An article about the MPC students' work was just in the Daily Herald. I do not think the detail of their work is online anywhere. I am guessing that Gary may be thinking that if they found pollution, it almost certainly included Great Bay.
Karysa Posted February 8, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 8, 2017 I can picture a parade down Front St. if and when the pollution issues get resolved. :)

gtaylor Posted March 14, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 14, 2017 And this new report. Second paragraph: The objective of the project is to improve living conditions of residents by eliminating sewage water running along the streets which creates a public health and traffic hazard. See the Google Earth shot. South Reward is in the upper left area. It drains into Great Bay. gary
