Alaska "pre-booking" on Cruise Planner

Hey all,

 

We have been planning for our alaska cruise on the explorer in May and to put it honestly - I like a deal. We booked this cruise the day it was released in 2016 as we knew we wanted something "cheap" to achieve diamond status and with living in Seattle, we wouldn't have to fly which would make this a "cheap cruise" for us.

 

We did a trans-atlantic in November and in our cruise planner they were offering 30% off drink packages. Also when Royal was having the "online cruise planner sales" we were able to get our surf and stream package cheap and they offered a discount on Chef's table - but only for the transatlantic not for our alaska cruise.

 

When I view my cruise planner for the alaska cruise, the only discounts I'm seeing is for internet packages.

 

Anyone have insight on why Royal may not be offering discounts on cruise planner offerings for our Alaska cruise?

There's no pattern to why or when Royal offers discounts. All you can do is what the rest of us do, keep checking.

We are also on the Explorer for a June Alaskan cruise, and the only discounts we see right now are for the internet packages.

 

I check frequently, just in case they start to discount other things.

The drink package discount for our Feb. cruise didn't appear until November. Then the new % prices this week saved us a few more bucks. There is still plenty of time.
