How many laps equal a mile?

I am sailing on the Eurodamm next month, one of the gals sailing with us is running the Boston Marathon and needs to keep up her training while we sail. To prepare she was wondering how many laps around the ship equals a mile? I told her I knew just who to ask, anyone?

Three. :) And just FYI, 3.5 on R class ships and 4 on the two remaining S class. P'dam signs say 4 also, but it's really closer to 4.5. All of these are just rounded numbers of course.

JTL is correct but remember that "Running" is not allowed on the Lower Promenade deck on HAL ships. They do have treadmills in the gym for running and I suppose you could go up to the sports deck and run around the basketball court.

Also be aware that HAL does not have a one-way direction policy, so walkers beware who is coming around the blind curves.

They did last time we were on the Prinsendam.

I found the promenade deck too crowded to get a decent walk done so went up to deck 10 ( on NA ) and although a much smaller walk around area it was less people to avoid, just had to go around the wind breaks.

I hope this will become standard as I have gone on record to point this out to HAL regarding the following ships: Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Oosterdam, Zuiderdam,Westerdam, and Eurodam.
