Running Routes - Ko Samui, Bangkok, Phu My, and Penang?

Hi, we're those crazy people you see get off the cruise ship and go run 10k or so, just for fun. It also helps with all that good food we're eating!

 

Is anyone familiar enough with Ko Samui, Bangkok, Phu My, or Penang to tell me where a good place to run, preferably starting from the ship, would be?

Also, in Singapore is it practical to run to East Coast Park from the ship? Google Maps says there may not be sidewalks on part of the route?
