Suggest you do this on your first day as you will have to be at the airport around lunch time on day 2. JerseyBoy Posted November 14, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2005 B.Luke I am from the east coast of the US and am not an expert of the LA area, but I have included several links below that may help you find a hotel and transport the LAX. FYI, we are going to stay at the Crowne Plaza before our cruise in April and will be transported to and from the hotel via Primetime Shuttle, which is included in our package. I have no idea about how good/bad they are. All I know, is that when you travel, you need to have a ton of patience. Hope this helps. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/cp/1/en/hpd/laxpv (Crowne Plaza - San Pedro) http://www.holidayinnsanpedro.com/cruise.htm (Holiday Inn) http://www.sanpedro.com/spcom/crusshp.htm http://www.primetimeshuttle.com/ http://www.supershuttle.com/
Rare little britain Posted November 15, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2005 Many thanks Little BritainHave you any recommendations on Hotels thanks again Hotels: I usually go through www.tripadvisor.com and look for one that has good ratings and is affordable! Personally we are going to stay at the Beverly Hilton for our two days when we get off the NCL Star. Transfers: On these boards I have read some pretty dodgy things about PrimeTime [they drive round and round the airport trying to fill up the bus] so we have booked with Karmel Shuttle http://www.hudsonltd6.com/cgi-bin/kt1/res Sights: Besides the bus tour I have heard good things about the Getty Museum if you feel in need of some culture http://www.getty.edu/visit/ and we were going to also try and get to see a TV show being recorded which might be fun http://www.tvtix.com/schedule.php. So much to do and so little time...!
obriendan Posted November 15, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2005 For an overnight stay before a flight to Australia and a land tour, I just got the 4* Sheraton Gateway on Priceline for January 22, 2006 (1 night) for a bid of $71. Also for the return, I got the 3* Radisson LAX (also on Century Blvd.) on Priceline for February 14, 2006 (1 night) for a bid of $60. Both hotels are very close to the airport and have free shuttles. I understand that there is not much to do or see at these airport hotels. However, there is a free shuttle to Mahattan Beach. More info on this in the thread titled "LAX hotels info..." by Kathy_bc.
