My husbands athletic shoe started to open up at one of the seams last week. We found Howell's Shoe Repair, and what a great little place to go. While my husband sat in the back talking to the wonderful man fixing his shoe, I looked around the little front area. This man fixes EVERYTHING: shoes, umbrellas, garment bags, hats, luggage, belts, jeans, jackets, backpacks, fanny packs, bags............

It's not fancy; actually it's UN-fancy, but he got the job done in 20 minutes. $7. Cash only.

Go out of the tender dock area and turn right on Harbour Drive. At Shedden Road turn left, and walk about 1/3 to 1/2 mile. It's on the left in a blue building.

Here's a recent article about the owner, Mr. Howell, who doesn't come into the shop anymore :D
