JohninDC Posted February 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2017 I have not stayed, but it is an often suggested option for those flying in late who just want a room. Have you checked trip advisor?

JohninDC Posted February 23, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2017 Reports on this board are that it is somewhat isolated. :( Better airport area hotels in a nicer area are found in the Blue Lagoon neighborhood - Homewood Suites, etc. There is a local strip mall nearby with shopping/dining/fast food options. If you want something to do I would choose a downtown hotel - you can Uber from MIA for about $15-18 - with lots of dining/shopping/nightlife options. Hampton Inn and other hotels in the Mary Brickell area are very popular; I would also check out the Hyatt, Intercontinental, Doubletree, and several Marriott properties. eandj Posted February 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2017 I agree, if you are arriving with time to spend walking, dining, touring etc don't stay there. The area really isn't the place to roam to get to a destination. And even the Blue Lagoon airport area hotels, will have you "stuck" without a cab fare to the city. You don't mention date or budget, but if you have the time to enjoy the city, head downtown to the Brickell area or the port area on Biscayne Blvd. Then everything mentioned is in walking distance. Lots of lists of those hotels here as well as reviews on Trip Advisor. The least expensive in Miami can sometimes not be the best value.

drgonzogoo Posted February 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 24, 2017 We stayed there last April. It was a nice hotel. We've been staying in Spring Hill's when traveling lately, they've all been excellent! Edge of a neighborhood but a very convenient location to interstates, right at an exit. Prob 10 min or less to port. Everyone was super polite and helpful. Not really walkable to shopping so you have to drive anywhere.

Yes with a car, and time to enjoy the area it usually is a well priced property.
