Need ideas for a beach...prefer to find one that offers snorkeling, black sand (kids have never seen that), chairs, food & drink would be a bonus and not to far from the port. Coming in on RCCL. If possible would like to spent part of the day beaching and then touring Brimstone and maybe shopping at a the local markets. Is this even possible? Will take any thoughts and suggestions. Youngest will be 18 and oldest 50.

If I was doing this tour I would do Brimstone first thing then South Friars afterwards.

Brimstone is located on the North East side of the island while all the beaches are in the Southern Peninsula.

South Friars has Shipwreck, which does have the black sand. The beach is narrower, and has had erosion problems in the past, but it's a cool place to hang out for the afternoon. The food is good and the drink prices are reasonable. The chairs are free and snorkelling equipment can be rented. Monkeys can also be seen in the late afternoons coming from the hillside.

Shopping is in the port area, and generally the same crap. different island.
