deschoolie Posted July 16, 2017 #26 Share Posted July 16, 2017 I sometimes start with dessert or just order dessert... that way I know I have room for it!
tennisfanusa Posted July 17, 2017 #27 Share Posted July 17, 2017 Thank you for asking this question! A year out from weight loss surgery I want to make sure I enjoy all the food they have to offer without making myself sick!
david5272 Posted July 17, 2017 #28 Share Posted July 17, 2017 I had weight loss surgery last year, so I can only eat small amounts of food. I think ordering two appetizers would suit me (I'm also vegetarian, and I usually prefer the appetizer options to the entrees). I know I could eat in the buffet (and did on a cruise with my mother last October) but I'm travelling solo on a 20 day cruise next month, and I would prefer to eat some of my meals in the MDR with other people. Is it weird to just order appetizers? Why do you care what anyone else thinks...you are on vacation...you order just appetizers....Go for it! Barneu Posted July 17, 2017 #29 Share Posted July 17, 2017 Not weird at all. Just consider mentioning to the server that your want your apps as your entree. Otherwise they will probably assume you want them as an appetizer and then you might have nothing to eat while your dining companies are digging into their main courses. But as others have said, you do you. I've always found staff very willing to accommodate any reasonable request and this is certainly common. Enjoy your vacay!! Is it weird to just order appetizers? I was sleeved in February and we went on a cruise in April a week after being allowed any foods and this is exactly what I did. My wife and I had the dining plan and our kids did not so I aid for an appetizer and let my daughter use my meal plan. It worked perfectly. There were also times I did order an entree like rack of lamb and only ate a bit of it. You will be fine.
