CruizCuz Posted March 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2017 Does anyone know which deck we embark the Epic on in Port Canaveral? We have a member of our group with a mobility issue and I have read ALL reports about full and crowded elevators. Our cabin will be 9 forward. Just curious how many flights we will be climbing with luggage. Thank you!

With a mobility challenged member of your group, not sure why you want to haul luggage through the terminal, up the gangway, and through the ship. There are porters and crew for that. And any carry ins must fit through the X-ray scanners at security. You will only be climbing the stairs if you are too impatient to wait a few minutes for an elevator. Yes, elevator cars hold about 20 people. Yes, there are 4200 people wanting to use them to move up to the buffet (or at least a higher deck) at the same time. Be patient and have a great time. You are on vacation. Not running to a plane because you are late to the airport, again. Best advise is to show up at the port at 10:00, get through security, get through check in, and board with the mobility challenged passengers between 11;00 and 11:15. Just curious how many flights we will be climbing with luggage. Thank you! You are boarding on Deck 7. I recommend that you go to AFT part of the ship (when you get onboard, turn RIGHT) because those elevators are usually far less crowded, but that means you will have to walk across the length of the ship to get to your cabin. Also, do remember that rooms aren't ready until 1:30 pm, so it is better to board a bit later and go straight to your cabin. Most of the luggage will not be delivered to your cabin until later anyways, so you can just drop off your hand carry and go to Garden Cafe for some refreshments. If you need help finding your way around, crew can help you but you can also check touchscreens near elevators and type in your cabin (or any specific location) and it will show you the path to that spot. Comes in handy if you're not familiar with terms like port and starboard, forward or aft ;)
dd likes to cruise Posted March 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2017 Can you put your carry-on bags in the room, prior to them being ready? Meaning I guess do they lock the cabin areas until cabins are ready?

Sorry! :(
