mimi7ccr Posted March 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2017 We live in Spring Hill, FL. and want to drive our car to Orlando and park in an off-airport lot for 15 nights while on an east-bound transatlantic out of Port Canavaral to Barcelona. We will be on a return flight into MCO late in the evening. My question is this: Will we be able to take the shuttle from parking lot to MCO and then board the shuttle to the port, even though we are not arriving to the airport by a flight? With all the security changes lately, I'm not sure this is possible. Has anyone done this. We would consider a one-way car rental from MCO to the port, but they are running $100 and up at my latest check. What are our choices? We can't rent a car in Spring Hill and drive it to the port as the prices are exhorbitant unless you pick up the car at an airport, and we are 45 miles north of Tampa airport. SteerageJoe Posted March 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Absolutely! Your parking bus will drop you on level 3. Once inside the terminal, take the escalator or elevator down to level 1 (same area as the rental car desks) and look for the transportation signage boards. The parking spaces outside are numbered and you can see which spaces are assigned to taxis and out-of-town shuttles including Port shuttles. Step outside the building and look for the applicable space to find your choice of transport (cruise line bus or shuttle) to the port. Shared shuttles depart from parking areas A15 or B15 when the vans are full. Always ask about wait-times before booking so you do not wait a long time. “Generally” loading begins at 9:15am or later with hourly departures until the last transfer at 12:30pm. The cruise line buses depart when full BUT you have to find a representative inside and register before getting in line for the bus.
mimi7ccr Posted March 10, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Thank you Steerage Joe. Just the info I needed, and the pictures were really helpful. If you have a reservation for a particular shuttle bus, do you still have to register inside or do you just get in line to get on?
mimi7ccr Posted March 10, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Oh, never mind, my mistake. We would not be taking a cruise line bus, but a shared or private shuttle instead. There would be 4 of us. Thank you for advice.
