Tracy Arm Fjords & Glacier on RCCL

Will be sailing RCCL Explorer on Aug. 18. First cruise to Alaska, so lots to learn and hope my question doesn't seem silly. Tracy Arm Fjords & Glacier is listed on our itin from 7am to 12pm. Can't find any shore excursions for that date. Does that mean we will just be cruising through this area without docking? We will do our glacier viewing from the ship? Perfectly OK with us if that's the case. Just trying to understand.

Yes - it's a 'scenic cruising' morning. My guess is you also have Juneau as a port of call later the same day? If so, you may be able to book a 'small boat' excursion into Tracy Arm - large ships can have trouble getting near the glacier even later in summer like your cruise, whereas a smaller vessel can always get you much nearer. These also have the fun part of docking at sea with the small boat - which takes you up the Arm and then drops you at Juneau. Check Juneau shore excursions page too in case it's listed there if you're interested.

Thanks for clarifying. That's what we thought it would be. We will actually be in Juneau two days prior.

We did this on an early September cruise onboard Radiance...No tours (or getting off the ship ;)) just cruise in and out....we were very lucky as we got in very close.
