You can't lose money in the casino

from a psych standpoint, if (some) people win the occasional $75 to $200, they might think "Yea, I love the cruise casinos! I think I'll book a 12 night cruise next year and play non-stop!"

Absolutely correct!

This is why casinos are so popular. It’s pure psychology.

Consider:

If NO ONE EVER EVER ANYTIME EVER won, then eventually casinos would go out of business.

Likewise, although this seems counterintuitive, but is supported by classic psychological theory, if EVERYONE ALWAYS WON EVERY TIME, then casinos would also lose their appeal. (forget the fact that this would never happen in real life, but it is supported by classic psychology).

The fact that SOME PEOPLE, SOMETIMES win, is the subtle little psychological quirk that keeps casinos in business. And this is true of any casino, land, sea, or anywhere…….

Newbie question... but is there one game over another that has the best luck chance / odds of winning?

Yes. Before gambling you should know your odds can vary substantially by game, and that's assuming "perfect" play. Everything is already in favor of the house, and less than perfect play only tips the scales more in their favor. It is very very rare for a game to be offered with positive EV for players, for obvious reasons. Things like slots will always offer the absolute worst odds. Table games like blackjack, craps, poker, are your best theoretical odds but again, that is assuming perfect play rather than going there drunk off a drink package with a loose understanding of the rules. Over a long time line, you will always lose and rewards programs are designed to keep you there playing, so that you lose. Doesn't mean you can't have a good time or even come out ahead in a cruise or two, just know your limits and be mentally prepared to walk away when you reach them.
