Beer Package - Prepaid menu

I'm currently booked on the April 15th sailing onboard the Divina, and we are looking forward to sailing away in just over a month! Through researching both the CC Boards, along with looking online on the MSC website under the Already Booked submenu, it's showing that a Beer Package is available (14 beers for $57). However, when I go online to my actual booking, when viewing all my options in the Prepaid Drink packages menu, there is no option for the prepaid beer package. The only option (other than the Allegrissimo / Dinnertime all you can drink packages) is the "All-inclusive Drink Pass" which is the 18 drink package for $89.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed the same? And if anyone can provide any previous experience on whether or not the beer package is available onboard? I certainly realize that when doing the math, there's only about an 80 cent difference between the two - but I guess just part of me feels like I'd be almost wasting one of the 18 vouchers on beer (cost difference between beer and a mixed drink is quite significant) - especially knowing that a beer package could be available instead!

Maybe in speculation, that since they're offering the 12 vouchers in the Fantastica package staring in April, that they're also re-doing the drink packages and eliminating the beer package all together?

Just curious what others are seeing - that's all. Thanks for your input ahead of time!

We have an unlimited drink package but on a point you made about not seeing the beer package online...I wanted to get the laundry package and can't find where I can purchase it online either. I called my MSC rep and he said they've taken it down online but I could still purchase it on board for same price. Have you called MSC about trying to get the beer package?

That happened to me last week but I was able to book and pay for that and a few other things just yesterday. I'm not sure if I was in the right website, i.e. msc.com as opposed to where I should be .co.uk? I know that happens on NCL webpages, just a thought

Yes, everything will probably be available for sale on board, but for drink packages, they'll add 15% gratuity to the price. So it's best to purchase these ahead of time, if at all possible.

  • 4 weeks later...

We sailed 4/1/17, and pre purchased the 14 beer package for $57. Once we boarded this package was NOT offered anywhere, but they where pushing many other packages, like the $89 cocktail package.

It was a huge struggle all week using the beer coupons, they came saying for draft beer only when we picked them up in the casino, but the description when we bought it said bottled & canned beer, lucky I had the print out description with me. Every time we went to use the coupon for a bottled beer we had to fight for it, most time would win but not always. On day 1 we were told it was there first week and all bars would be notified to take the coupon on bottled beer, but no one ever knew. We had to complain to service desk 3 times. They had some glitches that need to be worked out.
