tiger4848 Posted March 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2017 I don't ever remember arriving at last port the evening before disembarking. We get in Monte Carlo at 4 in the afternoon-are there things to do besides the casino's during the evening?
JimandStan Posted March 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2017 I don't ever remember arriving at last port the evening before disembarking. We get in Monte Carlo at 4 in the afternoon-are there things to do besides the casino's during the evening? There are many marvelous options, but keep in mind that the moneyed set is attracted to Monaco, so nothing is inexpensive, except of course people watching. We often laugh about having "saved money" at an Anniversary dinner at Le Louis XV versus the Ducasse restaurant (sadly a victim of the Great Recession) in Manhattan, but it was astronomical. Your question is particularly tough because it isn't even possible to walk through the gaming rooms of the Casino or get through the forecourt of the Hotel de Paris after dark unless one has taken the trouble to dress for the occasion. Bootman4U Posted March 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 15, 2017 When we were in MC some years ago I believe there was a so-called "tourist casino" across the square from the more well-photographed one that pretty much anybody could enter and wearing just about anything but that may no longer be the case.
