chut_da_chut Posted March 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2017 Ok, here goes... I'll be on the Valor in 8 weeks. I have a few quick questions for anyone that has been recently. It's been a few years since I went on a cruise, and even more since out of Galveston. How is the action on the craps table? I remember the Carnival ships usually had $5 Min, and the awful x2 odds for pass line bets. I'm curious how the table was? Elbow to elbow, table to myself, slow newbie action, or just your run of the mill craps action?.... On to blackjack..... How is the tournament setup. I don't need a full blog, but just the basics. Buy in, usual number of entries, structure, payout, rebuys? I read the cash games have a 6/5 payout over the 3/2... again increasing house odds. Will they let you play multiple hands? I understand 'no' at a full table. At an empty table will I be able to play more than one hand at a time? Finally Poker.... I'll ask someone again on the ship to confirm, but is it true they rake up to %15 on the poker tables? Electronic tables at that..... And what's the word on the poker tournaments? Payout? Blind structure? The house edge is so high in all of this, it seems I should just enjoy the loud noises and occasional quarters in the quarter machine. Thanks in advance. HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO chut_da_chut: On all six lines owned by Carnival Cruises on the craps table it is a $5 minimum bet with double odds. It is not so bad. On RCCL they allow single odds. Celebrity and NCL have 3x-4x-5x odds. Two times odds aren't so bad. How many people play depends on the trip from cruise to cruise. Don't know about the poker tournaments. Do know they use a poker pro which is almost like playing at a slot machine. The best game in the house is at the craps table.
Mrswynn1920 Posted April 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2017 I just left the. Aloe in December in the cruise out of Galveston. A lot of newbies.. Black jack tournament was good. If I remember there was no rebuy. You only get 500 chips and 7 hands. If you want to do another round is $20. Craps was the most fun because carnival had a lot of $5 tables. I did earn a bounce back and drinks on is but it was on the last day of the cruise. Spent a lot of time there lol poker was video poker.
