jancl57 Posted March 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2017 We are looking at bidding (if we get an offer on myncl page) on a balcony stateroom on our Boston/Bermuda cruise on June 9. We currently have a picture window ocean view on deck 5. I don't want to put in a bid and get stuck with an obstructed view balcony. Thanks for any info! biker@sea Posted March 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2017 The ONLy obstructions I know of are life boats on deck 8. They are in front of Ocean View cabins. .
triptolemus Posted March 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 20, 2017 There aren't any obstructed view balconies, but there are "hull balconies" The forward-most balcony cabins in this image are commonly referred to as hull balconies. You can see how the balcony is somewhat enclosed compared to the regular balconies behind them.
Oakman58 Posted March 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2017 I’m not sure what you consider an obstructed view balcony. There are some hull balconies but I don’t consider them to be obstructed view. We had a hull balcony on the Dawn and really enjoyed it. The only other balconies I might consider as obstructed view would be on deck 11 at the very front of the ship where you would be looking into the bridge room when looking forward. The lifeboats are tucked in on deck 8 so all the balconies have a view straight down to the ocean. Ships with the lifeboats tucked in like this are my favorite.
