Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort? If so, please give your opinion.

It seems to be very expensive to stay there going by their site; however, we got one night for $100+tax etc. Anyhow, the more a place charges, the better it is supposed to be (they say) so am wondering if this is so.

It looks great and trip advisor has a lot of good reviews - usually from folks who have stayed there more than one night and have been able to utilize all the activities.

Your input will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Its a really nice resort, gorgeous landscaping, great golf course. You will need to rent a car, unless you want to pay about $75 each way for a taxi. If you are looking for a relaxing place you have found it. Not much nightlife at the resort, but there is a shuttle that will take you to the casino at its sister hotel.

Thanks, Solo

Yes, you are correct with the taxi fares; although they do have some sort of shuttle to the airport for $25 p/p which is a little cheaper. Haven't checked into the car hire as yet, but I think what we will do is deposit our luggage at Bachini's (spelling?) restaurant for the afternoon and then take a taxi to the Hyatt and just do the casino in the evening.

:D

How did you get that rate?? Yes it is one of the most expensive hotels in PR and it is very good . It is not near the airport or the port so it is better to rent a car although I think they have private transportation at least they used to.It is beautiful and the beach is very good. Not much night life but it is very romantic.

Alinehu - I bid on Priceline.com - checked two areas (San Juan and Dorado - three star) and they came back with the Hyatt Resort. It looks lovely from the picture on their website so am quite happy with the result. Just needed some confirmation that I hadn't made a mistake. Our pre-cruise hotel is the Marriott & Stellaris Resort - $110 - got that thru priceline, also.

Good luck.
