7 Night Southern Caribbean

March 11th-18th Sailing

 

First, I want to say that I never write reviews, but I figured that I would be cruising a lot more, and I would like to share any experiences or people that were extraordinary. This is a recent review that I sent to RCCL customer relations @ web_cruise_comments@rccl.com

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this review. I will try to keep it as short as possible, even though I would like to go into detail on how amazing this cruise was. Every year I think that Royal Caribbean cannot top itself, and every year is surprises me once again. Now I’ve written many comment cards, but never a full review on the amazing service I received vie email. It is the least I can do to thank, and reward the following staff.

 

First and foremost, I would like to point out the absolute Superstars of your Adventure of the Seas ship. They carried such a high level of attitude, knowledge, and prompt service, that they simply cannot go unnoticed.

 

#1 Petronella Tarmac – Casino Server

By far, the nicest and most enjoyable staff member I have ever had the liberty of engaging with on any cruise line, ever. No matter where I ran into her on the ship, she would make my day more enjoyable with her conversation. No matter where I was located in the casino, she managed to find myself and my family instantly with our drink of choice. Her timing bringing us our drinks can be compared to a perfectly tuned Swiss watch. She went out of her way to greet us and make sure our entire day/cruise was going well. Her personality is extraordinary and I see great things for her at RCCL , and life in general.

#2 Nicolae Puscasu – Irish Pub Server

Another amazing bartender, that took time out of each day to converse with me on a personal level, while still providing excellent service throughout the night. I can truly call him a friend after this past vacation, and his personality is something to be admired.

#3 Shivangi Trivedi – Jewelry Specialist

Fantastic attitude and extremely helpful in the Jewelry shop.

#4 Anthony Menezes – Waiter & Peter Avil – Assistant Waiter

I’ve had some fantastic waiters in the past, and Anthony is one of the best. Exemplary service on both of their behalf’s.

#5 Angelina Ulianets – Sports Staff

Very kind, friendly, and patient staff member that went above and beyond when assisting me while use the flowrider surfing, and the waterslides.

#6 Samira Mitrovic – Casino Dealer

The most entertaining and helpful dealer I ran into on the ship. There were a few more that were great, but she stood out above the rest.

 

#7 Melchor Necio & Haerul Anwar – Blue Sky Night Club Bartenders

Instantaneous service with a smile from these two.

#8 Allessandra? – Pool Drink Service - I did not get her exact name because I could not find her the last day, but she worked from the pool bar upstairs waitressing. Brown Hair, tattoo’s, and glasses.

Her timing serving drinks was incredible. I never went one minute without have a cold refreshing drink around the pool upper deck, thanks to her.

 

 

 

The only issues I ran into the entire cruise were the first moment I walked on the ship, there was a water leak in my room, but that was quickly explained to me personally by the ships manager, and reassured me that I would be compensated for my troubles. Also, anyone who enjoys falling asleep early should not be placed in a room above the PUB. Luckily, I am a night owl and this never affected me. Possibly a warning should be given to anyone staying in that room prior to the vacation so they know what they are signing up for.

Also, I feel like you should be able to use waterproof GOPro types of cameras on the waterslides. They are an amazing part of the vacation, and they should be able to be captured.

 

Other than that, the entire cruise was another huge success, and everything was a huge 10/10. The entertainment staff was all great, the shows were fantastic, both comedians were hysterical, the addition of items such as chops (which was surprisingly already open for us), waterslides, and flowrider, were amazing compared to my cruise on this ship 2 years ago, and the service all around the ship was the best service I have ever received. Cheers to all the staff that made this vacation so memorable, and keep up the good work RCCL !! See you guys in a October!

In addition there are three things that need possible improvement.

#1 No Receipts . This is a blessing and a curse. Its nice to not have receipts flying all over the ship and wasting paper, however, id still like to tip after every drink. Luckily you can still ask for the receipts, but id like to be asked before I board the ship whether Id like to receive paper receipts or not, during each transaction.

#2 Internet speeds, they were just upgraded and still seemed slow at times when the ship was sailing. Nothing huge, but I remember it being about this speed 2 years ago, before the internet upgrade.

#3 GoPros and other waterproof cameras should be aloud on the waterslides. I'm sure one person on one cruise was irresponsible, and lost their camera on the slides, and now there is a rule against them. I hate when the actions of one person that complains about something silly, affects the future of all cruisers.

I hope this was helpful to at least one person planning to attend this vacation, and If you run into any of these helpful staff members, tell them Brandon said Hi! Cheers!

Appreciate the report. I'm not surprised that your internet performance was not much different than a couple of years ago, Basically, they only changed the name. Adventure is using the same service as before.

Thanks for the review. Reminded us of our excellent transatlantic on her a few years ago.

 

We didn't like the receipts on Oasis last month. Its such a faff and a waste of paper. We were also told that any tips added on the slips are pooled shipwide so you are not actually rewarding that specific bar person. We cash tipped as necessary instead.

 

We also didn't like being told we HAD to sign the slips, even though we had beverage packages, when any slips without tips were just put in a bin.

It's really a bit of inconvenience, but perhaps, it is required for audit on drinks inventory at the bar.
