Nothin' But Sun Posted November 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2005 I was wondering if there were any rules about wearing a bathing suit from "stateroom to pool?" I realize some sort of cover-up for bottom would be appropriate but what about top? Also is it OK to wear a bathing suit plus full cover-up to the Winjammer for lunch? lanabanana Posted November 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2005 Just a bottom cover for walking to the pool is just fine. A regular cover up is appropriate for the Windjammer. Only the dining room requires real clothes.
limbogirl Posted November 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2005 Last year when I was on the Serenade of the seas I went from the pool to the windjammer with a one piece suit with a long cover up that went from my waist to my ankles and the hostess told me that swim wear was not allowed in the dining room. She was very nice about it and somewhat apologetic. So I left and returned later in the day when I was through at the pool.
skohrs Posted November 20, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2005 My wife and daughter use sarongs that can be worn as a skirt (covering from the waist down), and also as a full length cover-up (covering top and bottom so they can go into the Windjammer for lunch). CJJSmith Posted November 20, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2005 I noticed that the Windjammer said NO TANK TOPS and that scared me the first day... that was basically all I brought to wear other than for dinner... BUT they allowed me to wear tank tops with no problem. I never tried going in a bathing suit, but I saw many people with bathing suit tops alone and were allowed in. I noticed on our cruise that many people did not follow the dress code guide lines posted and no one seemed to care.

Sheffie Posted November 20, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2005 Georgia, I just looked at that board and it was going to allow me to post. Maybe something was going on earlier. Try again!
sas80 Posted November 20, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 20, 2005 I was declined entry into the dining room for lunch because I was in my bikini and had the sarong only covering me from the waist down  I took off the sarong and made it into a dress and everything was fine.:D Etiquitte for walking to the pool is, at the very least, sarong from the waist down  Personally, I get into vacation mode on cruises and would have no problem spending the entire week in my bikini  However, when making decisions, espcially about eating in the public areas, remeber that there are lots of people around you and it might not be considered "sanitary" if you show too much skin. ;) I guess, just try to be as respectful as possible. limbogirl Posted November 21, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Hi Georgia, I haven't been to the 12-4 aos site yet, but I was having trouble with getting off the opening page when I first logged on! Maybe it was the whole board having problems. Sheffie I see you are going on the Serenade in April- I loved that ship! My next cruise is going to be on the radiance class ships. I'm 2 weeks from cruising and I'm talking about my next cruise!! I'm pathetic!:)
hstrybuf Posted November 21, 2005 #10 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Just make sure you're covered up as mentioned above and DRY! The next person to occupy your seat may not appreciate a wet spot. ;) Shoes are a good idea too.
rprehoda Posted November 21, 2005 #11 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Good advice hstrybuf.I just got back from the Legend. I sat on a wet seat with my burmudas on and it looked like I had a severe bladder problem!!!
iheartshoes Posted November 21, 2005 #12 Share Posted November 21, 2005 I always wear a wrap and take a shirt to throw on to eat. And remember to wear shoes into the windjammer.
Kimba1910 Posted November 21, 2005 #13 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Men must also wear a top into the windjammer.
superjerryw Posted November 21, 2005 #14 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Men must also wear a top into the windjammer. Preferably a top that covers their armpits......
ckrobyn Posted November 21, 2005 #15 Share Posted November 21, 2005 We found a way around the wet bathing suit issue - Grab your lunch in the Windjammer and then take it with you to the pool! We didn't see a sign that said no eating at the pool.....this worked great for our DD who didn't want to waste a whole lot of "pool time" sitting down in the Windjammer eating a long lunch with her parents! I know you are not allowed to bring glassware into the pool area.
