JimJam39 Posted March 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2017 Hi guys, does anyone know how long the confirmation email takes to come through following pre-registration? I pre-registered last week and was told to ring up at 8am this morning to pick my cabin. However, when I rang at 8.20 this morning, I was told that I couldn't pick the cabin and that I had to wait for the confirmation email which would contain a reference number and an allocated cabin, if I wasn't happy with this allocated cabin I could call up at ask to change to the one I want but the longer the time that passes the likelihood is that the cabin I want will be gone. I'm so frustrated as had I not pre-registered and just rang to book today I could probably have just picked the cabin number I wanted anyway :( I've offered to do an extra shift at work today too, start at 12.00, so can't access any emails after that, so even more time will pass :loudcry: Prices are also still the same (I was told they'd increase on general release day) so I really cant see the benefit of pre-registering at all. Rare P&O SUE Posted March 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2017 Oh now how frustrating for you! I can't book that early so I've never pre-registered but I feel your pain, I would be livid! Is it possible you could just book yourself anyway?? And then tell them you don't want it when it finally comes through?
JimJam39 Posted March 27, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted March 27, 2017 I've paid my deposit, so don't think I can :(
daiB Posted March 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2017 They can't tell you as you are behind all the higher tier passengers and those who registered with a TA who are before you. You will get a cabin in the grade you requested but if you pre register with P&O you do not get a choice. eddie11 Posted March 27, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 27, 2017 This is all sounding familiar. Now you've posted your experience i remember my one and only pre-registration and my annoyance, frustration and despair. I hope you can be reassured that it all worked out for me in the end. I think the agent i spoke to when pre-registration told me there would be two emails ... the first incorrect; the second with the cabin i wanted and had discussed with him. However, somehow, it all seemed very unsatisfactory and over-complicated. Fingers crossed it'll all be fine when you get back from work. I really think it will be. If i remember correctly it was all done and all correct within a day. I won't pre-register again though, and only did it then because we were about to embark Azura within a couple of days and i wanted it done and dusted and out of the day. In retrospect it would just have been simpler to book on board
JimJam39 Posted March 27, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted March 27, 2017 I just rang P&O, they've been able to swop my pre-register over to book today. The B deck cabin I wanted had indeed gone :( but she got me a C deck cabin directly below the one I wanted, so not all bad. I won't ever pre-register again though, lesson learned! Alan & Giselle Posted March 27, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 27, 2017 I always pre-register direct with P&O and have the same personal cruise specialist every time, I got an email at 8.07am this morning so I don't believe you are behind the queue of everybody else. It is probably because so many pre-registered. I also use him when I want to book any P&O cruises so I do not have to go through to the main booking line I call his number and ask for his extension. And by the way I am not in a higher tier or anyone special. Just lucky to have a very good person I deal with every time.
