We thought that this port of call was super. The design of the area, the fit and finish of the amenities, the service and the areas, the layout and the functionality of the end result was very well developed.

We were a group of five. No one had a single complaint.

It was a really nice place to be.

Here's a link to some images and a story line. It looks like there are areas with umbrellas for shade and a nice pool and beach.

Thanks for posting this, looks like a really nice island........and it does look like they have umbrellas. Which makes me wonder why they don't have them at " Great Stirrup Cay". They say there is very little shade there unless you rent a clam shell....which apparently they don't have enough of those for everyone. I'd rent an umbrella if given the choice. We can't be out in the sun long. Fair skin 68 year olds. We probably won't hang out there very long considering that.

Does this beach have shade and or umbrellas? Or do we have to fork out $40 for a clam shell? We are not able to sit in sun for long.

There are plenty of umbrellas on the beach and quite a lot by the pool.

If you are on one of the Mega ships you may need to get off early to get one round the pool but you should be fine on the beach.

My twopenn'orth is I didn't like it, if I'd had wanted Disney I would have stayed in Orlando, And Disney have better sand.:o

By the way, when we were there so was a TV crew. They were filming for the Travel channel, called something like "100 things you can only do on a cruise ship". Due out latter this year so you should be able to see for yourself.
