AOS Pier

My wife and I are sailing on the AOS next March and I need a question answered. When previously sailing out of San Juan, the RCCL ship was docked at the pier at the bottom of the hill from Old San Juan. Is this the same pier used by the Adventure? If not, where is the location and how far is it to Old San Juan? Thanks for your help!

Hi!

When I cruised on the Adventure last year, I believed we sailed from the Pan American Pier. I am pretty sure that it is not in Old San Juan. My memory is a little foggy as to exactly where the Pan American Pier is, but maybe some other posters have more definitive directions. Anyways, you will love AOS-- she is a beautiful ship! Have a great cruise

We had the same question as where the Pan Am Pier was and this was the email I received back from RCI: Nothing personal but I did remove our name.

Dear

Thank you for your e-mail. We apologize for any delay in our response.

Information for the Pan American Pier in San Juan, Puerto Rico is as

follows:

PORT: San Juan, Puerto Rico

Pan American Pier

Isla Grande, Puerto Rico 00901

(787) 977-0075

AOS uses the Pan American pier which is across the bay from Old San Juan. It is a short distance directly across. However, it is a rather long bay which makes walking pretty much prohibitive unless you have a very long time to make the walk. It is no where near as convenient as being at the piers in Old San Juan. It is too bad that there is no water shuttle across the bay. But I'm sure the taxi drivers would not want to have one.
