anyone book upgrade with rci credit card points?

HI all

was reviewing my statement to see how much I can cash in for OBC - I have enough points to upgrade my ocean view to a balcony.....but have questions.

I booked my trip with a TA and have OBC, dinner coupon, and a few other goodies. I'm diamond and own stock and all my goodies should NOT disallow my stock OBC.

So, my question is - will I lose my freebies if I use my credit card points to upgrade to a balcony? Who do I call - my TA or RCI or credit card company? If I upgrade to balcony will I lose my stock OBC?

Not sure if anyone has ever done this, but figured I'd get some opinions before I start to make calls.

Talk to your travel agent. If you use your Visa points for anything other than OBC, your travel agent's commission is affected, and that might also affect the perks they give.
