3 people in a spa cabin - only 2 get perks??

is this true? If it is I will be INCREDIBLY angry. No one from Carnival told me that only 2 of the 3 would be getting the spa pass but from what I have been reading it seems that is the case. We paid significantly more for these cabins as a bachelorette party of 6 (2 cabins of 3 girls). We obviously wouldn't want 2 girls left out so now we will have to pay and extra $300 - $50 per person, for all of us to access these amenities? Why should we pay when no one informed me this upon booking? And NOWHERE on the spa page does it say the passes are limited to 2 per cabin. It just says guests booked in spa cabins have access.

From the Carnival website:

Two twin beds (convert to king). Desk and seat. Full bathroom with shower. 3 closets.

Exclusive Cloud 9 Spa amenities:*Exclusive entry access to the adjacent Cloud 9 Spa facilities, upgraded in-stateroom amenities and Cloud 9 Spa Package exclusive to guests booked in Spa Accommodations. Only 1st and 2nd guests booked in Spa staterooms will receive the access and amenities; 3rd and 4th guests are not entitled to spa access and amenities.

Where was this supposed to take me? It just asks me how many rooms I want. In the help section when I typed in spa it says all guests in spa cabin have access to these ammenties. I will post link when I get home.

Almost all specials are only for the first 2 pax. We sail three in a cabin and have encountered this many times. Casino cruises also have this issue.

Only once, on Princess, did the third get the perks. After we booked they closed the loophole. Thirds are paying a very reduced rate.

Price it out, might be cheaper to get a third cabin than buying the Spa for the third cabin pax. Could also price out regular cabins with the Spa.

Go here (help.goccl.com website link), and then click on your ship. Each ship that offers spa cabins are listed and the all have this info:

Important Notes

  • Only the first and second guests in a spa stateroom will receive the access and amenities; additional guests in the same stateroom are not entitled to spa access and amenities.
  • Guests under the age of 18 are not entitled to spa access and amenities - 18 is the minimum age for body treatments and use of the Thermal Suites and Thalassotherapy Pool.
  • Hair, nails, facial services and the fitness center can be enjoyed by guests of 13 years and older, provided they are accompanied by their parent or guardian for service and booking.
  • Charges apply for the Thalassotherapy Pool and Thermal Suite areas for those guests in non-spa staterooms.

When you book the cabin, it shows what I posted, that the spa benefits are for the first and second passenger in the cabin, only.

NOWHERE on that site does it say limited to 2 per cabin. It specifically says: "Guests in Cloud 9 Spa accomodations have private access to the spa and are eligible for exclusive spa packages and discounts."

NOWHERE on that site does it say "all guests in spa cabin". The help is not explicit. The advisory you get when you book your cabin is explicit.

I'm sorry that you are upset but the terms are clear.

Once you click on the link, click on the link for your ship. The links are in the 2 lines right above the paragraph you are quoting. That will take you to the page with the detail that includes the info about only 2 people getting the spa benefits.

I still don't see anywhere on my booking that spa perks are limited to 2 guests. Also, I booked over the phone, not online. The Carnival rep did not tell me this. How would I know if they don't tell me on the phone?

I understand that but I called in to book and they offered me a spa room. I did not book online. They should have told me on the phone.

They should have but they didn't.

Now you know since you checked after booking.

Cancel. No harm no foul.

Your third guest in a cabin technically paid a reduced price for the cabin and that would have allowed for that person to pay for the spa pass outright. If you split the total 3 ways evenly then the 1st two passengers received a deal and the third person paid too much for their 3rd place space. Passenger #1 and #2 owe more than #3 according to how it is booked so only the #1 and #2 get the spa passes included. Carnival cannot be held responsible for how your split the bill, it is clearly stated in the spa cabin detail.

Look at your invoice or do a mock booking to see the difference, you probably should have researched ahead of time to see how the pricing is laid out for 3 people in a cabin. Best thing you can do now might be to go back and reimburse #3 for the money she paid towards the spa pass that she is not getting as a #3 spot.

The two ladies without the spa amenities can purchase a reduced week long spa package at a reduced rate. This is what we always do. And right now there is a spa sale so it would be to your advantage to get over your anger and look at your options. Book a third room or get the add on package for the additional two guests.

I'm confused. OP, did you just randomly pick a cabin? Did you not research what you wanted then book? Not being rude, just trying to figure out how you booked Spa cabins without knowing details.

I sailed CCL for the second time after 23 years of cruising last year on the Breeze and booked a spa cabin for three and was fully aware that I had to pay for my dd as the third passenger. Sorry you were not that well informed either by CCL or doing your research but if I know that after not sailing CCL I dont know how anyone could miss it without even a little reseach about the cabin.

The OP indicated that she called and booked the cabins. The customer service rep suggested a SPA cabin and told her what that included, but didn't mention that it was only for 2 guests. This wasn't the OP's fault. Rightly so, she expected that the customer service rep would have told her if there were significant restrictions that applied to her booking. I do agree with a previous poster, at this point, look at your options to make the best of the situation. You may have luck calling and changing your cabin, even if it is a down grade given the fact that they sold you something that you all can't use. We ran into this on a cruise that we booked for next year. We will be on the Vista and I booked cabins for my parents and me and my husband. My brother called and booked a cabin and they talked him into a Havana cabin. He was looking online as he was speaking with the rep and said that he sees that the others in his group in other cabins wouldn't be able to use that deck so that wouldn't work out. They told him that as long as we were all over 18 we could use that deck. Obviously wrong advice. He booked the cabin and called me. I told him the rules, so he called back to change. The person that he got told him AGAIN that we would all be allowed on the deck all day! He finally talked to a supervisor that looked it up and allowed him to downgrade given the misunderstanding. Good Luck OP! Sorry about all of the confusion. Don't let it impact your time on the ship!
