fletchers5 Posted April 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2017 we are ending our Alaska cruise in vancouver. We are renting a car and driving to fly out of Seattle the following day. We are spending the night in Seattle. Is there places along the way that are worth stopping for? Quaint little towns....scenic areas???? Not sure what is there. Any help would be appreciated
xlxo Posted April 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2017 Thoughts.... Hmm.... to clarify... you are arriving in Vancouver May 29th on a Monday.... enjoy your breakfast and drive out after 9am when traffic will be lighter. have research while car rental? Alamo, Enterprise and National have a small fleet inside the cruise terminal. if you have luggage.... book early to secure those luggage friendly minivans. small towns? Storybrooke may be of interest. unique experience would be Future of Flight. Book your tour tickets right after you cross the border. They sell out the Dreamliner tours around noon for the day. The space needle is popular.... also watch the ticket sales online as you drive towards the needle. There can be a multi-hour wait.

ArtkeyTech Posted April 13, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2017 It maybe too late for tulips?? 1 year driving up from Seattle to Vancouver, we hit some tulips fields...no need to go to Holland.
xlxo Posted April 13, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2017 I hear the Tulips in the area are 2 to 4 weeks behind schedule for the April blooms. May 29th is pushing it.
geeko1 Posted April 13, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 13, 2017 The Tulips are just now getting into the bloom so they will be well long and gone by the end of May
Sequim88 Posted April 13, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 13, 2017 Suggest Chuckanut Drive as a route. You could extend it via Deception Pass bridge to Whidbey Island (lots of quaint towns) and ferry from Clinton to Mukilteo.
kralc4 Posted April 17, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 17, 2017 I agree with Chuckanut Drive. You can also stop in Fairhaven for lunch (part of Bellingham, Wa) and/or get a coffee at Boulevard Park to stretch your legs, then drive down Chuckanut Drive (Stop at Taylor Shellfish while on your drive down Chuckanut the view is gorgeous from there) Sent from my iPhone using Forums
