Hello we disembark on Sun 10 am and out flight doesn't leave until 5:40pm (departure time) we were wondering what you recommend to do that it won't be a problem or hassle with having luggage? The post cruise excursions offered by carnival end early. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We ended up deciding to stay over night in FL, but before we did we were struggling with this as well. None of the excursions appealed to us (we just wanted to go to the beach and hang out in South Beach) plus they all ended well before our scheduled flight. One thing we had considered was renting a car for the day - then we could keep our luggage in the car and be free to explore as we wished. It was pretty inexpensive if I recall, even including the taxi from the port to the airport to pick up the rental.

You have options:

  • There are hop-on/off bus tours that will store your bags and wind up dropping you at the MIA airport
  • Taxi to MIA, pay to store your bags, and then use the airport flyer bus to get to/from South beach for about $3 each way
  • Taxi to South Beach and pay to store your bags at the luggage lounge; then you are free to explore South Beach - sightseeing, beach, people watching, lunch, drinks, etc. Use either the airport flyer bus ($3 each) or Uber (about $20) to get to MIA
  • Check with the Savoy - they sell pool/spa passes for about $25 per person; tip/pay the staff to watch your bags.

Good luck!

Where is the luggage lounge in South Beach?
