Question for srphnx or anyone just off the Diamond

Florida Beach

Recommended Posts

I just booked 2 tours back-to-back (Juneau port). The Helicopter tour is from 2:30PM to 5:45PM. The Evening Whale watching is from 6:00PM to 9:30PM. The confirmation came back, with a warning:"Schedule might be conflict".

My questions:

Do they pick us up and drop us off at the pier?

Are those tours started and ended on time?

We will be on the Sapphire Princess.

Thanks for your help icon_smile.gif

Haven't been on the Diamond , but I can tell you that you may very well miss the second one. Way to close on time!! Anything can make one 10 to 15 minuites late. That is nothing. Yet you will miss it.

Nothing is more exciting then the whale watching, if you are lucky enough to find a group of whales, which most of the time happens.

Hey Fla. Beach...Tampa here, just got off.

I think the reason they say that is because the helicopter is hard to time with weather, etc. Can you back the helicopter time back a little, did you book it with Temsco or with the ship? Will you lose anything if you miss the whale watching (which I agree with the above poster, it was one of our favorites!)

I also feel that is too close, nothing about excursions is that precise. Pick one you really love, prioritize that one. You can whale watch in Ketchikan as well.

Thanks for your quick responses icon_smile.gif. This is our first time to Alaska, and we have to have the Glacier tour (as well as the Whale watching icon_wink.gif). Okay, I will release the Whale Tour back to the wild and book another one in Ketchikan instead. I booked with Princess, no penalty if I change my mind.

Thanks again icon_cool.gif
