If you are visiting Haines, Alaska on your travels through this beautiful state, I recommend you read Heather Lende's book If You Lived Here I'd Know Your Name.

 

This is a great little volume about the town and the people who live there. If you're interested in local color, etc., read it before you go or take a copy of it with you. You won't regret it.

 

Unfortunately, it was published after I'd already been there!
