shirleygr Posted November 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2005 Hi, all. Been back for a week and finally have time to post. We had a fabulous time and loved the ship. We had a balcony cabin on deck 7 that was very comfortable and Ricky, our room steward, was absolutely wonderful. We had Albert in the dining room and he was great too. I will write a full review as soon as I get a chance. In the meantime, if there are any questions I can answer, please let me know.
hayesktrm Posted November 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2005 Is there an ice cream machine? Did you see the AO? What excursions did you take? Did you eat at Chops and if so, did you like it? Did you use the spa? If so, what was that like? Was the casino really smokey? I could go on and on, but that's a good start. Hope you had a great trip--I'm looking forward to hearing all about it. Hope you had a great trip--I'm looking forward to hearing all about it. Yes, there is an ice cream machine. It is located in the seating section just outside the Windjammer on the left side if you are leaving the Windjammer. I didn't use it, but saw many others with cones and cups. I'm dense--what is AO? In KW, we just walked around and did some shopping (been there many times). We checked out the KW Winery and that was fun and we brought home a couple of bottles. In Belize, we did the cave tubing with Coral Breeze and thought that was terrific. Yes, we ate at Chops the first night, as that was our actual anniversary. It was FABULOUS and well worth the $20 covercharge. DH wanted to know if we could eat there every night. Oh, and we were about the only people in there so we had fantastic service. Didn't do the spa this time. The casino--and most of the bars--were very smokey. We spent alot of time in the champagne terrace since they had live music and a large non-smoking area. Think that covers it all. Let me know what else you're curious about.
shirleygr Posted November 20, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted November 20, 2005 Did you do the rock climbing wall??????? No, I did not. I am recovering from achilles tendonitis and my dr said NO. My dh did do it and reached the top and rang the bell. And I have the pictures to prove it. He said it was really awesome. If you have any other questions, I will ask him. Hope this helps. Interesting to know y'all were about the only ones in Chops the first night--perhaps that is the best night to try for ressies--how early did you make those reservations, we are flying in the morning of our cruise so wont be among the very first (I think we land at FLL around noon). Says you're from Bridgeport--I'm an old Trumbull High grad, lived in that area 70's and 80's.

battchief1 Posted November 20, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 20, 2005 What night was formal night and when did they serve lobster? Want to eat at chops but don't want to miss either of those nights. Would like to go on caribbean night if they have that or when they do the feast of the nations, maybe you can help tell us when those nights are. NancyL2 Posted November 20, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 20, 2005 We had a balcony cabin on deck 7 that was very comfortable and Ricky, our room steward, was absolutely wonderful. I was on the Enchantment back in September (deck 7 inside) and also had Ricky for our room steward....he is wonderful! Could always tell when he was on the floor....loved his singing. :) Ricky also did the towel demo on our cruise. We were definitely spoiled. stcsf04 Posted November 20, 2005 #11 Share Posted November 20, 2005 Hi we just got back on thurday from enchantment. The Adventure Ocean Program was great. My daughter (4) wanted to be there the whole time. THey had all kids of actvities for them something was scheduled about every 15 mintues. She didn't stay after 10 just the normal time. SHe loved it. They had diferent themes. One night was Pj night. One night was Pirate night. One night was rock star night. I forgot what the other one was. Pirate night was cool. They dresses them up as pirates with face paint and they got to color their own bandana. They then marched them around the ship. They showed up 5 mins before the show in the theater. ( The 9'oclock show) And they marched them all on the stage and they sang some songs. It was awesome. I just wish i would have know so we could of brought our video camera. shirleygr Posted November 20, 2005 Author #13 Share Posted November 20, 2005 Hi, logan. I called for the reservation mid-afternoon and asked for 7:30 and that was not a problem. We passed by on another night--Wednesday, I think?--and it was pretty empty that night too and I think it was around 8:00. Our server said it really varies from cruise to cruise how many people utilize Chops. We were in cabin 7648 and it was very nice. For ilionite65 and battchief1: Formal night is Tuesday, KW night and lobster was on Thursday, Belize night. I know there was prime rib the first night and there was Italian on Wednesday. I wasn't very impressed with the food on formal night. The escargot was very good, but the filet was a bit of a diappointment as they only gave you a couple of slices, not a whole steak. Of course, we were very spoiled from eating at Chops the first night. ;) Friday night was steak, a sirloin and very nice. I was disappointed there wasn't any baked alaska, though. Nancy--I loved his singing, too. I hope to see him again when we go back on the Enchantment in april, even if it is just to stop by and say hi. Keep 'em coming, folks. curiousjly Posted November 21, 2005 #18 Share Posted November 21, 2005 I just returned, on the 17th from the Enchantment (5 night cruise), formal night was the second night. I think the lobster was on the fourth night, but not sure. There was baked Alaska on the last night, it was good the first time I ever had it. There was steak almost every night, on formal night I had duck, I don't remember what else was offered. There was so much to choose from. When you are leaving the Windjammer, instead of going out the main doors, go to the left, the door by the railing. There, on your right as you come out that door is the ice cream machine. It is kinda hidden. Since I can't remember if the Windjammer is at the front (bow) or back (aft) I can't tell you if it is on the starboard or port side. Maybe this will help better, as you head to the Windjammer, on your right side, close to the railing, hidden behind some (don't remember what is there) is the ice cream machine. You have to go around that to get to the ice cream machine. Hope that helps. Janette
Kimq Posted November 21, 2005 #19 Share Posted November 21, 2005 We are sitting at the airport just of EOS. (4 night) Formal night was Friday night after Key West. No lobster on the 4 night. We did not go to Cozamel due the Gamma storm. We spent Saturday in Freeport and Sunday in Nassau. We choose to eat at Chops on the Formal night and could only get in at 6 or 9:30 due to a private party. We had a great trip but stayed up too late last night. We had some luck in the casino and they turned the lights up a 3 am and kicked us out. napping on the plane - soon
HawkeyeGrandma Posted November 21, 2005 #20 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Shirleygr, this is probably a dumb question but I assume that, in addition to the $20 cover charge, you pay for your meal - what is the price range? We are celebrating our 25th on January 3rd and trying to decide if we want to do it in the dining room or Chops.
hayesktrm Posted November 21, 2005 #21 Share Posted November 21, 2005 HawkeyeGrandma--if it's like the adults only restaurant on the Disney ships, you only pay the cover charge, then everything is included (except drinks). I don't think tipping was included, however, and we tipped as if we had gone to a nice restaurant. Anyone--Is this how it is on EOS? AO--Adventure Ocean...the kids program. It sounds like you didn't have kids with you, though. Thanks for all the answers...it sounds like you had a lot of fun. -Karen
wolfcathorse Posted November 21, 2005 #22 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Shirleygr - if your captain was Capt Arne Kjonso, do you happen to know who the relief captain is?
Tommy's Mommy Posted November 21, 2005 #23 Share Posted November 21, 2005 There is a $20 charge per person. You pay for that, your drinks and tip. The tip amount is at your discretion. That's all. I would make reservations as soon as you board. Our ship was crowded and many people made reservations. You might have to have an alternate night or time in mind especially if booking for a group. If I'm not mistaken I think it was $90 per couple. We were in a group and divided up the surcharge, drinks, and tip. Have a great time. Don't miss this place. You will be very happy.
