Parking at Galveston

Does anyone know if there is parking at the pier in Galveston, and what the rates might be? One of our party lives close enough to drive, wants to know what to expect once there.

To elaborate on that a bit... EZCruiseParking is where I will be parking, after doing a lot of research. The parking lot at the cruise terminal is $70/wk for uncovered parking and $80/wk for covered. At EZ, it is $60/wk and $55/wk if you book in advance. Their parking is all uncovered, I believe, but they will put a cover on your car for $10 more.

 

The other main difference is that with the official lot, you must go to the terminal first and drop off your luggage. At EZ Cruise, they will transport you and your luggage to the terminal after you park your car.

ez cruise parking. 1-409-939-0648 Rates are $45.00 for a seven day cruise if you book on line. Cruise terminal parking is around $70-80 for seven days. They have shuttle service to and from the pier and are located about two blocks from the terminal. Embarkation in Galveston is pretty smooth, its the disembarkation that has the traffic problem. Just chill out when you return.

It is a bit of a pain when boarding to drop bags, then drop the car off if you use the "official" parking....not to mentionn the addtional cost, but upon return, it seems faster and easier than using the off-site. Wife stays with bags, grab the truck, pull around and on our way. Done this a bunch now and it is pretty easy.

 

It can be a minor hassle, but Galveston is still in the cruise ship development stage so a little bit of patience and all goes well.
