Vista Questions

Has anyone been on the Vista recently that can share their experience with Your Time dining and Beverage Service (Bar, etc)? In particular, how bad were the delays for dining and what as your experience with the two stage check in process for getting a table? Also, I have read several comments/posts talking about the long delay for beverage service. I would be interested in hearing experiences about the typical bar service you experienced and the wait times. I am considering the cheers package, but would likely pass if it involves long delays in getting served. TYIA.

We sailed back in Nov and I was a little concerned about the two step check in process for obtaining a table. Nothing to worry about. Yes, sometimes the line seemed long but, only during peak times. Usually, by the time we received our ticket, walked to the elevator and into the dining room, our table was ready.

The bar service was another matter. We generally had to go up the the bar ourselves and stand with all the others to order a drink. There is less bar service now than there use to be for sure. We did have the drink package.

I have never seen good dining room bar service on any ship on any line. It is always slow.

Pick another ship...not happy with her in general.

Only ship we found good bar service in Dining Room was the Splendor.

 

Every other ship the waiter said he would send the bar person if you wanted a drink, it was always hit or miss when or if they would show up.

 

On Splendor, the waiter would take our bar orders and the bar waitstaff would bring them shortly after.

 

Loved the Splendor.

It's the same on Royal, at least on the Allure anyways. It used to be that there were A LOT of bar staff at the pool area wanting to take your drink order. The most I saw on any day was 3. Almost always went to the pool bar ourselves to get a drink. Cutbacks are everywhere.

I was aboard the Vista last week. Bar service was quick. There wasn't a wait at all. Also while I was on the lounge chairs there were a lot of bartenders going around asking who would like drinks. I had assigned dining, and we were always out of the dining room within an hour and on formal night an hour and a half.

We were on the Vista in January and found the bars to be a lot busier than other ships. The slowest bar was in the Casino. Having said that, the bartenders were fantastic and worked hard to take care of everyone surrounding the bar, you just had to wait a little longer for service.
