Escape dining & entertainment reservations?

Our family of 10 is sailing on the Escape in June. I see where you can make reservations for the complementary dining and shows in the main theater prior to the cruise. Are dining reservations needed prior to the day of dining? And are theater reservations necessary or can you just walk in and find an open seat?
