jbrambach Posted November 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2005 I got a bus schedule from the visitaruba.com website and it says that the buses stop in front of the hotels. Does this also include Palm Beach? I was thinking about going to the beach in front of the Radisson. It also said that the price is $1.15 US, is this still correct? Are the buses reliable? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
wentworth Posted November 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Hi We rode on the local bus last winter. It did stop at all the hotels on the main strip. The bus station is directly across the main street from the pier. The cost was VERY reasonable and you can also buy a pass. We got off at the beach in front of the Radisson and walked down the beach for a ways. There were many empty chairs and just sat on some to wait to ask if we could rent the chairs. No one every came buy. Very Nice Beach!!
jbrambach Posted November 21, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Also thought the price was reasonable. Good to know that the bus terminal is across from the cruise ship pier. BTW, I read about a beach bar in from of the Radisson called kokao (something like that), did you happen to go there? If so any good? Thanks
CathyG Posted November 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2005 If you go down a little further to the Holiday Inn they have a lot of beach "toys" - Jet skis, etc. We usually get off there, and if you like Tony Romas, it's right across the street. Best ribs in town. Cathy
vbacht Posted November 23, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2005 Was in Aruba last week, the bus terminal is right across the street to the right when you get out of the cruise ship terminal. You want bus line #10 hotel district and the fare is $2 round trip. You must tell them you want a roundtrip ticket!!!
kakalina Posted November 23, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 23, 2005 We were there also 2 weeks ago and 5 weeks ago. The bus system is user friendly and stops just about everywhere. You can go to the beach at the Wyndham Resort it is fabulous. There are several public beaches on the route with bars and water toys and they are very nice also. For our fare it was $1.50 one way and $.50 for the transfer to make it round trip.
