dixielandings Posted April 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2017 We are sailing on the Disney Fantasy next month with a 7yo who's not terribly adventurous yet. We don't want to make reservations for any excursions in order to leave ourselves some flexibility. However, we don't want to miss Tortola since we've never been. Can you share some ideas of how we might see some highlights - beach and snorkeling included - for a good price? Obviously, we're looking for safety and reliability. :) Thanks! blue_water Posted April 28, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2017 There are many options for seeing the beauty of Tortola andenjoying a beach on your own. To see the highlights of Tortola, 3 – 4 hour islandtours are offered by drivers at the dock at very reasonable prices. Some includea short (1 hr) beach stop, probably at Cane Garden Bay which is the busiestbeach but not really a snorkeling beach. You can take a tour then taxi toBrewers Bay to enjoy a beautiful beach and snorkel. Or you can just taxi toBrewers Bay and spend your day there. Taxi fare from in a safari taxi withothers is $8pp each way ($4 for your 7 yr old), or you can take a private taxifor a little more. Brewers and the other nicer beaches are on the other side of the island so you see some of the beauty that way. This thread describes the beaches and has some other ideas - have a great day on beautiful Tortola! http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2451323
